By its very nature, volunteerism is an important vehicle for sustainable development and lets people and communities participate in their own growth. Social cohesion and trust is strengthened through individual and collective volunteer action, leading to sustainable outcomes for people, by people.

As a UN Volunteer serving with a United Nations agency you will make a positive impact while working alongside local communities and people from around the world, including international volunteers and other United Nations professionals.

If you are interested in becoming a full-time UN Volunteer, you must you must first register at the Global Talent Pool, check out the instructions on how to register here. UNV provides you with several volunteering opportunities:

  • National UN Volunteer serving on-site in your home country. 
  • International UN Volunteer serving on-site abroad. 
  • UN Online Volunteer serving online. You may register and apply to be an Online Volunteer through the Online Volunteering Platform
